The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been around a long, long time. It’s a massive RPG, and with mods being released all the time, it’s comforting to know there’ll always be something to come back to.
You will have new quests, items and areas to explore. So even if we’re headed for an XNUMX hour game, the good news is that it might not be time to leave us yet!
We know that with any RPG worth its salt, one of the key components of this game’s design is that the story arc will change if we try to explore it differently than we normally would. Let’s decide.
We and some of you have put a lot of time into this game, yet there may be many events that we haven’t figured out yet. Naturally, this game made many players wonder what would have happened if they had done something different in previous missions.
Skyrim How do we restart this quest?
The good news for us is that restarting the missions isn’t that difficult. The best way we can do this is to use the console more and then request the cost stage to be 0. That way, if we missed something or if we wanted to do the quest a little differently, we can start the quest from the beginning.
The command we will need for the console is the following: “resetquest”. After that, we just have to remove the ID of the mission we try to reset. And it more or less happens!
How do we open the console?
If we’ve never opened a console before, we have to drill a bit to show you how it works. Depending on which input device we want to use, we usually only need to use the Tilde key (this one: ” ~ ” ) to open the console.
Once we do this, we can use the console freely. We can also scroll through all the commands we entered earlier using the Page Up and Page Down keys. From the keyboard
Is this possible if we just want to go back a few steps in a quest?
More often than not, players don’t want to go back to the beginning of a quest when they can just go back a step or two. All we have to do is use the console and navigate our way through the various stages of the mission.
For us, of course, there is an order for it. should start using the set stage command. After that we will need to enter the ID of the mission we are on and after that, enter the stage where he wants to take us.
How do we find the Quest ID?
Unfortunately, we must have the exact ID of the quest we want to reset. It can be quite difficult for us to find out if we don’t know how. Fortunately, there are no complicated tricks to get this information. We need to use the right command in the console.
We want to open the console again and enter the following command: “ShowQuestTarget”. This will not only tell us who we are looking for, but it will also give us the stage of the quest you are in.
Once we get the ID of the quest we’re on, we can use the reset command we provided above. It has to be followed by the ID of the search we want to reset it to and it will work perfectly for us every time.
We’ll have to go to the trouble of finding a solution for any search that might make it work again. It’s a great way to just replay the quests now that it’s our character level and we want to see what it’s like. Whatever the motivation, we must help in this process.
Can we use this method to go one step further?
Of course, if we get stuck at a certain point in a mission, we can simply skip a stage or two and bypass it. If we don’t want to search them at all, we can move it to the last search step. Of course it can be done, we just don’t recommend it that much.
It can take some of the fun out of the game if each challenge is approached simply by sight. For this reason, we can only really recommend it if a search is so small that it won’t work. Apart from that, we believe that this game is fun enough to play without any problems.
Also, if we really get stuck on something, we have the option to access the Steam forums and find detailed guidelines for searching. Of course, we also have plenty of information about other console commands if we want to learn more
Can you restart a mission in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim if you’re not using a PC?
If we are not using a PC to play Skyrim, everything is a bit more difficult. Since we can’t just open the console resource and type commands, the only way to restart missions is to go back to old saves.
Obviously, this will require us to save a little more to avoid situations where we have to go too far back to do so.
